PGCE Reflection

I’ve been really enjoying my time on the PGCE program. It’s been great to connect with folks from different courses. Sharing experiences and learning from each other has been a real joy.

That said, juggling the workload and managing time has definitely been a challenge! While the structured nature of the readings and assignments has been helpful in providing some organization, I’m finding the short, and many tasks hard to keep on top of. I’d love the chance to work on a longer, independent project that would let me dive deeper into some of the ideas that have come up in the assigned readings.

While the topics to the assignments have varied, Ive noticed quite a few overlaps between posts. Many discuss this balance between structure and play, language and abstraction, process over product. I can see why these themes have emerged, as they reflect tensions within my own creative and teaching practice, and form the foundation of my creative learning.

Moving forward, I’d like to further explore ideas around inclusive practices, collaboration, and embodied learning, while continuing to situate my teaching within interdisciplinary feminist pedagogies.

Some of my favorite moments so far on the course have been the microteaching sessions and the peer observations. I’ve found these hands-on experiences really valuable, and I hope there are more opportunities like this in the coming terms.

Overall, I’m so grateful to be on this course. I feel like Ive been learning a lot, and I’m excited for what’s ahead! Thank you all!
